Welcome!

Dear parents, teachers and students,

Welcome to Kinderland Sunway SPK Damansara's very own information portal!

This blogger account will function as a notice board for parents and students on upcoming activities and current issues regarding the school, as well as a medium for teachers to update parents on the interesting activities that the students have been doing in school to encourage hands-on and integrated learning.

We hope that with this, parents can be more in touch with what goes on at school and that we will see a greater parent involvement in school activities as this will help parents reinforce learning at home and encourage holistic skill development in children.

For prompter, more condensed updates, please click this Facebook link. This will take you to our Facebook page where we will constantly post blurbs and photos on the students' daily activities.

Thank you for your visit and we hope you come back soon!

Eggs-Periment!

Today's order of business is to perform some eggs-periments!

During today's science lesson, the K2 children were given the opportunity to perform some experiments using eggs. The first experiment is called "Squishy Eggs. Here, the children were taught about the effects of soaking an egg in vinegar and in turn, learned what acid can do to calcium as the eggs which have been left soaking in a bowl of vinegar no longer had their hard brown shells to protect them and were left with only the soft white membrane that makes up the inside of the egg shells.

Three different eggs-periments

Children gathered around to listen to the briefing.

The children were then shown two other eggs-periments which were "Spinning Eggs" and Balancing Eggs" and were then asked to go home and think about the reasons why the experiments turned out the way they did. Here are the questions:

1. Why does one egg stop spinning while the other continues?

2. What is the item used to balance the second egg?
3. Why can the second egg stand when placed on top of the item?

Can you think about it and tell us, parents?
